When the Siren royal family escaped a kidnapping attempt, the Queen hired the best protection agency to figure out who was behind the attack. Trident Agency is a band of misfit supernaturals lead by hellhound Jeremiah, nicknamed Sunshine, who has been assigned as the personal bodyguard of the crown prince Remington. Remi may be a selfish and bratty prince but Jeremiah’s hellhound wants him.

I have some mixed feelings about this book. The world was very interesting and kept me reading. This is a world filled with hellhounds, sirens, gargoyles, dragons, vampires and a bunch of other kinds of supernaturals. Some of these supernaturals have their own kingdoms and there is a lot of politics and racism between races, and between humans and supernaturals. I really enjoyed this new world.

My main issue with this story was the couple. While I really liked Jeremiah, I didn’t like Remi. From the very beginning, Remi is a spoiled and selfish prince who is constantly focused on himself more than the danger to his family. This got old very quickly and honestly he came across as a teenager throwing a fit a lot of times, which I know he is supposed to be bratty but I don’t want him to feel like an actual teenager because that’s a bit wrong. Remi’s age is never specifically stated but I assume since he is in college he is around 20-23 years old, but I still expected a bit more maturity from this character.

The relationship between these two was fine for me. Their relationship is a fated mates situation and it takes a while for them to work it out because they both don’t believe they can have fated mates and because of the class difference. Also like I said, I wasn’t loving how childish Remi’s character was coming across and considering this is an age gap, their relationship just didn’t make sense to me. Why would Jeremiah, a man who is running his own company, fall for a spoiled prince who has no sense of responsibility and is so selfish. But it’s fated mates and they don’t always make sense. I will say I did like Remi more after the relationship started though because he did start to actually think about others and act his age, which was why I didn’t stop reading this book.

Overall, while I didn’t really enjoy this couple I still am very interested in this world and the Trident Agency brothers. They are a group of misfits that I am very interested in learning more about so I will be reading the next book.

CW: derogatory language directed at both main characters; kidnapping and abuse;
