4 stars – It was really good

Macy is an office manager for grumpy and tough bounty hunter Colton Fury. Things are going well until she finds herself a target of creepy calls and a house break in. Now she is living with her boss and his cute daughter and trying really hard to not fall in love with him.

I really enjoy the grumpy and sunshine trope and Colton and Macy really represented that. Colton is a grumpy, protective, and surprisingly sweet man who spends his life hunting down bad guys and taking care of his daughter. I really loved Colton. He was a giant grump with a gooey heart, which is always my favorite. Also he was a great dad.

Macy is a smart, capable, and sassy woman who doesn’t take any of Colton’s shit. She has no problem putting up with his grumpiness and finds it endearing. I liked Macy a lot. She was a fun FMC who didn’t push for more than he was willing to give, which I respected. Macy and Colton’s relationship was very sweet and sexy. I really enjoyed seeing them finally give into their feelings and becoming a family.

The suspense in this is that Macy is being targeted by a stalker and it escalates quickly from annoying phone calls to attacks against her person and Colton. The action made the story fly by and kept me hooked to the story. There were a lot of heavy topics discussed and experienced in this book but it was a very enjoyable romantic suspense overall. I am really enjoying the Fury brothers and can’t wait to learn more about the rest of the brothers.

CW: child kidnapping; abusive and controlling ex; stalking; home break in; on page allergic reaction; death of mother by father mentioned; references to parents and sibling with drug addiction; death of sibling from drug overdose; death of mother from cancer mentioned; escape of a rapist from prison;
