3 stars – I liked it

When Delilah Fairchild’s beloved uncle disappears she finds herself turning to the Black Knights Inc for help. With danger seeming to find Delilah at every turn Bryan “Mac” McMillian can no longer fight his feelings for Delilah, but will he accept those feelings.

Mac has been fighting his attraction to Delilah for a while now, so I was eager to get their story and see what was holding him back. Mac is a man who was deeply traumatized by a woman and has used that to keep everyone at a distance, especially Delilah. We see him fighting his feelings for her throughout this book and struggling with this fear. While I like Mac, I do think it was a bit ridiculous of him to be so distrustful of women because of what one woman did, especially when Delilah’s actions show she is nothing like that woman.

Delilah is a super smart and sexy woman who is confident in herself and her body. I loved how confident she was and how she handled everything that was happening to her. Delilah and Mac’s relationship starts with the negotiated one night stand and eventually leads to them admitting their feelings weeks later. Like I said before, I do wish Mac hadn’t pushed Delilah away so much because of what another woman did.

Overall, this was another action packed and intense story that I couldn’t put down. I really enjoy this series and can’t wait to see who falls next.

CW: kidnapping; torture; death; threat of rape; sexual assault; PTSD;
