4 stars – It was really good

After reading the Soulbound series I really wanted to know more about Spencer and his life. Well this book fulfilled my wish and I am so glad we finally get to see Spencer find happiness in the arms of a dangerous vampire.

This book takes place two years after the events in the Soulbound series. Spencer is now a SOA agent and his first mission is to track down stolen artifacts. He may be trying to do things by the book, but Tacoma the vampire master Seattle Night Court is determined to keep him safe and break the rules. Like I said, I am very happy we are getting to see more of Spencer and Tacoma. They worked great as a team during the Samhain fight and I really love getting to see them reunite and pursue their attraction.

Tacoma and Spencer had instant attraction and a lot of steam. Tacoma is a powerful and controlling master vampire who isn’t afraid to claim Spencer. He never holds back with his feelings and admits from the very beginning that he wants to keep Spencer. While Tacoma was a bit controlling, he never pushes Spencer to do anything he doesn’t want to. Also was not expecting Spencer to be such a good boy but dang it was hot.

What I really liked about Tacoma was that he is determined to keep Spencer safe from the government and lets him know that he has a way out. Spencer’s situation really sucks and I was really glad to see that he found someone who could help him gain freedom if he wanted. Spencer and Tacoma’s relationship was great and I really want to see more of these two in future books.

We also get to really see the different kinds of things Spencer and Fatima can do in this book. We see how they deal with ghosts, poltergeists, and very powerful demons.  I love that we are getting to see more of the different types of paranormals in this world and how they utilize magic. Also, I love that we get to see more of Wade and how much he has grown since the last book.

Overall, this was a wonderful couple and I love that we are getting more books in this universe. Hopefully we will get to see more stories in the future.

CW: on page torture, death, burn wounds, and injuries
