Title: Seraph
Author: Lily Mayne
Series: Monstrous #6
Pages: 462

This was a very emotional story compared to the other books in this series due to Seraph’s history and struggle to regain control of himself. After reading the previous book I was very curious to see how Mayne took this tortured and wild creature and made him fall in love. Well Mayne continues to amaze me with her wonderful storytelling because she did it, and did it beautifully.
Lilac and Seraph have a very emotional relationship. Since he was introduced, I have been eager to learn more about Lilac and I loved seeing this stoic and isolated man open up and fall in love. I really loved that Lilac always treated Seraph like he was a person and demanded better from everyone else. Seraph was a great character who has gone through so much but he doesn’t give up after meeting Lilac. There were so many times I just wanted to hug Seraph and he is definitely one of my favorite monsters now.
While this book involved some very emotional topics, I still loved all the happy moments we got between Lilac and Seraph. This book also brings all the previous couples back together and it was wonderful seeing everyone together for once. There is so much more I could say about this book but I don’t want to spoil anything so I will just say, this was amazing and Lily Mayne continues to astound me with her beautiful writing.
Trigger Warnings: past medical experimentation and torture; references to the death of parents, references to chronic pain;
