5 stars – I loved it!

This book was a wonderful surprise! Pam Rollins has decided to put herself back out there now that her kids have their own lives and mates. She makes a dating profile and finds herself swiping right on the hunk minotaur, Alistair Reid. From the first moment they met they had an instant connection and while Alistair may be returning home, he is still determined to see where this connection goes.

This book was so wonderful and sweet. I adored Pam and Alistair so much and I found myself smiling so many times when reading this book. Pam, who is Tegan and Reece’s mother, is trying to find love and build her confidence in herself with yoga and affirmations. Alistair is trying to figure out if he is ready to retire from his company. While both Alistair and Pam are just planning on this being a casual one night stand, it quickly turns into more.

These two have an instant connection and it quickly turns to more. I adored how Alistair took care of Pam and was always encouraging her to try new things. He was just such a sweetheart who really listened and wasn’t afraid to try things she loved, like reading romance novels. Pam spent her life taking care of her children and in a toxic marriage. I just really loved the growth of both of these characters and how they helped uplift each other but never pushed for more. It was just a wonderful relationship with two older people who know themselves.

Overall this was an absolutely wonderful and sweet couple. I couldn’t get enough of them and would have read 100 more pages of them dating. I really can’t wait to read more of this series because the characters are wonderful and this is such a fascinating world of monsters and humans living together in peace.
