4 stars out of five
4 stars – It was really good

This book did not play out how I expected! Kit finds unable to say no to a case straight from the Brenner Corp. She is determined to identify who is killing the members of the Council and clear Damon’s name but things don’t go as planned.

Kit continues to be a very fascinating character. From the very beginning, I was hooked on this story and couldn’t put it down. Kit has already become a character that I am addicted to. She is an extremely traumatized badass who continues to put herself in danger because she will not back down or give up on saving someone. I also really love all the other characters in the series so far, especially Doyle which was a big surprise.

This was an extremely fast paced, action packed, and very very emotional story. Daniels really didn’t pull any punches with this book and really did a wringer on Kit. The last few chapters really take you through the wringer. After the ending of this book I definitely will be jumping right into book three because I need to know what is going to happen to Kit now.

Trigger Warnings: kidnapping; imprisonment; rape; PTSD; references to child abuse;
