Edin was another wonderful monster romance! Mayne continues to create a fascinating post-apocalyptic world filled with monsters, raiders, and a corrupt military all trying to survive in this dangerous world.
After falling in love with Edin in the first book, I couldn’t wait to jump into his story and see him find love. Edin is such a sweet and friendly purple monster who continues to have an optimistic outlook on life. I loved watching him show Hunter that not all monsters are the same. Hunter was a grumpy, hot-headed, and a bit of an asshole, but he is extremely loyal to his friend Charlie. It took me a while to warm up to Hunter but I really enjoyed getting to know him and seeing him loosen up with Edin and fall in love.
Another wonderful thing about this book was that we got to see Wyn and Danny again. We finally get to see Wyn get vengeance against those who tortured Danny, which brought the closure that Danny needed. I really hope we will continue to see more of both of these couples in future books because I can’t get enough of them.
