Title: Wolfgang
Author: Grae Bryan
Series: Vampire’s Mate #5
Pages: 238

I was a bit apprehensive when I started this book because I didn’t really like Dr. Eric Monroe or Wolfgang in the previous books. But, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up really loving these two.
In Johann, we meet the psychopathic vampire Wolfgang who unexpectedly meets his mate and turns him shortly after. I initially didn’t really like Wolfgang but I warmed up to him as he opened up to Eric. Wolfe was a surprising character because while he does lack empathy and most emotions, he goes all in with pampering and taking care of Eric, which is what he needed. Wolfe accepts Eric for who he is and never shames him for his many past partners or his need for attention.
Eric was a surprise as well. I was expecting the flirty man who is constantly looking to get laid, but instead we find a hurt and lonely man who just wants someone to love him and not leave him. I loved watching him get over his fears and embrace his mating with Wolfe and all that he can provide. Their relationship was surprisingly sweet and wonderful. They accepted each other as they were and worked to build a future together.
This book also has cameos from all the other couples, which was a wonderful addition to the romance. I also loved how put out Wolfe was to socialize with the other couples but did it for Eric. I hope there are more books in this series, especially since we keep getting introduced to new vampires.
