Trigger Warnings: sexual assault, physical and mental abuse, toxic relationships
This book covers episodes 1-25 of the webtoons comic.
This is a wonderful retelling of Hades and Persephone’s story. This is mostly told from Persephone’s POV and how she is struggling to finally have a life now that she is away from her controlling mother. She is so naïve and expects the best from everyone that she doesn’t know how to deal with the gods who are cruel and petty.
I love this comic so much. The character development and romance that builds between Hades and Persephone is wonderful. Even though I am all caught up with the comic and know what happens in this book, it was still heartbreaking to see Persephone be abused and mentally struggle with what happened to her again. I just love Persephone and find her a breath of fresh air compared to the other conniving gods.
The artwork in this comic is beautiful. It really helps sell the story and captivate the reader. I highly recommend this series if you like mythology or slow building emotional relationships.
