Title: Wolf Gone Wild
Author: Juliette Cross
Series: Stay a Spell #1
Pages: 395

This is my first Juliette Cross book and I absolutely loved it. Mateo Cruz has been unable to shift into his wolf for three months. His wolf has taken up residence in his head and is slowly driving him insane. Believing he is cursed he seeks out a powerful witch who is known for breaking hexes. Evie Savoie can see the desperation in Mateo’s eyes and can feel the curse on him, but it’s going to take a lot more power than she thought to free him from the spell.
I really loved this book. Evie was a powerful witch, with a big loving family. Her sisters were so much fun and had a lot of personality. I really loved that they all had unique gifts that they used frequently to help others out. Evie is a very powerful hex-breaker and a very happy person overall, but we still see her struggle with her self-confidence when it comes to her art. She was such a relatable and sweet character that I didn’t want to stop reading.
Mateo was an alpha male, but also a really great guy. His wolf side, Alpha, was controlling and possessive but he always was careful with Evie. We knew from the very beginning that he would never hurt her, which I really appreciated. Mateo and Alpha were wonderful heroes that I loved from the very beginning. I adored watching them fall in love with Evie over geeky things.
One of the best things, for me anyways, about this book was that Evie was able to be her geeky self from the very beginning and Mateo never questioned it or made her feel bad about it. He jumps all in on reading comics and watching movies with her. I loved watching them fall for each other over Star Wars. It was just adorable and made me love these two so much more.
Overall, this was a wonderful slow building romance with an unexpected villain, which is always nice. I cannot wait to read more about these sisters and see them fall in love. Also, I love that these sisters have crazy pets.
