3 stars – I liked it

Kicks never expected to find himself falling in love with someone but when Rabbi Yudah Burns bursts into his life everything changes. Jude’s life gets turned upside down when his brother gets involved with the Broken Chains but it may be just the thing he needs to find his true calling and happiness.

Jude and Kicks story was emotional, messy, and very sweet. I really enjoyed getting to know these two men and why they are the way they are. Kicks had a heartbreaking past that has caused him to have PTSD and trust issues, but he finds peace with Jude. Watching these two men open up about their pain and fears was wonderful and I didn’t really want to put their story down.

Unlike the previous book, this one doesn’t have a lot of action. We get to see how Kicks was shot in the beginning but after that it’s mostly just references to attacks and violence. I didn’t mind the lack of action in this one because it really allowed you to focus on Kicks and Jude and their growing relationship. I do expect the next one will be more action packed since things are starting to pick up again against Hydra.

Overall, this was a very emotional one. I enjoyed these two and can’t wait to get to know the rest of the Broken Chains MC.

Trigger Warnings: PTSD; torture; violence; burns; injuries; gun violence; abusive and neglectful parents; Brother who is an addict referenced; references to drug use, motorcycle accident, amputation, and rehab;
