Title: Laying Pipe
Author: Kiki Clark
Series: Blue Collar Hearts #1
Pages: 208

Well this was a cute and low angst romance! John and Lukas had a very sweet and steamy romance. This features the trope of my best friend’s son, which is not a favorite of mine, but Clark did a great job with this one and I ended up really loving it. Also there is a large age gap between them (26 and 42) but Lukas is a full fledged adult with responsibilities, not someone barely of age, which I appreciated.
“You make me feel like the best thing that could ever happen in my life is right in front of me. That all I need to do is have the courage to reach out and grab it.”
In this book we see John come to the realization that he is bisexual and not straight like he believed. While this is something that can be a very stressful time for some people, John accepts it and dives right into his bisexuality. I really enjoyed the fact that this was very low-angst and that John accepts these changes in his life so easily. It shows he is a mature man who isn’t afraid to change.
Another thing about John that I loved was that he wasn’t afraid to stand up to his friend and tell him he is treating his son like shit. I always love when one MC stands up to the other MCs family when they treat them terribly. Overall, this was a very sweet and steamy story. I look forward to reading more from this series.
