4 stars out of five
4 stars – It was really good

In this one Patrick and Jono head to London and Paris searching for the Morrigan Staff. Along the way they have to deal with the London God Pack, demon possession, and lots and lots of zombies.

This is probably the most action packed one of the series so far. It was basically nonstop from the beginning but it was a hell of a ride. We really get to see how dangerous and capable a lot of the side characters are, especially Sage. I loved seeing how badass Sage is. She is such a smart and deadly woman and I just love her. We also see the return of Lucian, Carmen, and Nadine, and we finally get to meet Patrick’s friend Spencer. I really liked Spencer and his psychopomo Fatima. I really hope we see more of them in future books.

“I’m safest right by your side. We’re better together. You know that.”

Jono and Patrick continue to be an amazing couple. When these two work together they can overcome anything it seems. I love seeing them support and care for each other. Also, they are absolutely amazing adoptive parents for Wade and his bottomless stomach. I really can’t wait to see how these two deal with taking over NY and defeating the Dominion Sect in the next few books.

“You’re my home, Pat. The only pack I’ve ever had. London doesn’t have anything for me. Not anymore.”

Overall, this was a wonderful action packed addition to this series. After that ending I really can’t wait to jump into the next book and see what happens.

Trigger Warnings: references to abuse, forced pregnancy, human trafficking; graphic violence; PTSD; flash backs; nightmares;
