Title: A Vigil in the Mourning
Author: Hailey Turner
Series: Soulbound #4
Pages: 354

This book continues Patrick’s search for the Morrigan’s staff and it leads him to Chicago. While Patrick is in Chicago, Jono is dealing with the other God Pack enriching on his territory and a bounty on his head by said pack.
This was an interesting one because this is the first time we see Jono and Patrick apart while dealing with major magical problems. While in Chicago, Patrick is dealing with the Norse Gods, the Dominion Sect, and a corrupt politician. I like that each of these books deals with a different pantheon because it’s really interesting to see how these gods have adapted to the world. In NY, Jono is dealing with Estelle and Yossef continuing to test him, the assassin group Krossed Knights, and creating alliances with Lucian for territory. While I did enjoy seeing them handle things on their own, it was much better when they were reunited, especially after Jono got himself out of the doghouse.
Like the previous books, this one had a ton of action and danger. I really enjoyed seeing Patrick and Jono continue to thwart the Dominion Sect, even if they seem to be destroying lots of property to do it. Jono and Patrick really are becoming a power couple that are in sync with each other. I can’t wait to see how they deal with Estelle and Yossef. Also, I love Wade, even if his current personality is mostly just food based.
