Hello! Its been a while since I have done one of these. I hope everyone is having a good reading year.

Lately, I have been on a shifter romance kick so I decided that would be the perfect topic for this post. These are all series that I loved, many of which I have read multiple times. I hope you find something you will be interested in.

Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken

For those of you who don’t know, Shelly Laurenston also writes under G.A. Aiken. The ones published under Laurenston are paranormal romances and Aiken is fantasy romance. The Pride and Honey Badger Chronicle series feature all kinds of shifters and the Dragon Kin series is about dragons, obviously.

The Honey Badger Chronicle series is the only ongoing series.

Patricia Briggs

Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite urban fantasy authors and I reread both of these series any time there is a new release, so of course these had to be on this list. These two series are mainly about werewolves but Mercy is a coyote shifter living in a werewolf dominated world.

Both of these are ongoing series.

Maz Maddox

Maz Maddox writes MM romances. The RELIC series involves dinosaur shifters and the Stallion Ridge series is a western paranormal with all different kinds of shifters and other paranormal creatures.

The Stallion Ridge series is finished but the RELIC series is ongoing currently.

Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh

The Psy-Changling series is one that I always recommend. It has a fascinating world filled with great characters. The main shifters are wolf and cat, but if you read the spin off series Psy-Changeling Trinity you can see other types of shifters, like dolphins.

The Psy-Changeling series is finished but the Trinity is on going.

Soulbound series by Hailey Turner

The Soulbound series is an MM urban fantasy series featuring a Mage and a werewolf shifter. Their story takes place over seven books. I actually just finished reading it and I loved it.

Kincaid Pack series by Kiki Clark

The Kincaid Pack series is a MM paranormal romance with shifters and witches. I really enjoy Clark’s writing because she writes great characters and really emotional stories. This is an ongoing series with the last book coming out later this year in May.

The Other series by Anne Bishop

I initially wasn’t going to include this urban fantasy series because the romance develops slowly over the series but I really loved this fascinating world of shifters, psychic abilities, and monsters in the woods. The Others is a five book series that features all kinds of creatures but the humans are the minority. This is the first series I remember reading that had paranormals in control and frequently killing humans who get out of line.

If you like unique worlds and great characters I recommend this one, but this does feature heavy topics so check the trigger warnings if you need to.

Ancients Rising by Katie Reus

The Ancients Rising series is a post-apocalypse paranormal romance series. It features all different kinds of shifters, as well as many other kinds of paranormals. I really love this series because its got great characters and a unique post-apocalyptic world.

This is an ongoing series.

The Kiesha’ra Series by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

I am taking it back to my high school days with this series. The Kiesha’ra series is a unique fantasy romance with snake shifters and hawk shifters who are enemies but that end in an arranged marriage. I loved it in high school and I loved it when I reread it in 2019.

Fun fact, Wolfcry was my first lesbian romance. I also believe that Hawksong was the first enemies to lovers story I read.

Bonus: Graphic Novels with Shifters

Have you read any of these? Did you enjoy them? Also if you have any shifter recommendations, please put them in the comments. I am always looking for more.

Also, sorry that all of these are series. I don’t really read standalone romances.
