Title: Justice Ascending
Author: Rebecca Zanetti
Series: Scorpius Syndrome #3
Pages: 353

Tace Justice’s world changes when he gets infected with Scorpius. He is no longer the fun loving man he was before. He is emotionless and is starting to experience other new symptoms. Now the only person who seems to bring any emotion out of him is his partner Sami Steel, but she has a big secret.
Tace has been in this series since the beginning. We have seen him become infected with Scorpius and struggling to deal with the side effects. Tace and Sami have always been friends but in this one he finally realizes he likes her more than that. I enjoyed their relationship overall. My only main complaint was that I didn’t love how often they ended up in physical altercations against each other. I liked that Sami wasn’t afraid to stand her ground but her reaction to turn to physical violence instead of just talking it out was a bit much after a while.
A lot happened with the overarching story of survival in this one. The Vanguard and Mercenaries start discussing truces and start working together against their enemies. It will be very interesting to see how this partnership progresses. The Bunker is finally found in this one, and it was very surprising where the information came from. It will be interesting to see what information they find in there.
Overall, this was a good addition to the series. I enjoyed the story progression but had a few issues with the couple using violence first instead of words.
