Well this was cute! Leanne Vanderpol has been married twice and has decided her third marriage will be one of convenience. Trevor is looking to get out of his parents basement and start life again and agrees to be Leanne’s husband. Neither of them expect to fall in love.
Like I said, this was cute. Leanne and Trevor’s marriage was quick and very surprising for all their friends. But, they had great chemistry and had a strong partnership. Leanne is a very driven woman. I liked her determination to change her community and the witchy world. She is the kind of politician that I would want to serve the community.
Trevor is instantly attracted to Leanne but has extremely low self-esteem and never expects her to care for him. I liked that Leanne could see the true Trevor and helped him start to overcome his depression and self-esteem issues. I also love that we are seeing an older character getting his life together and creating career goals. Society is constantly trying to push people to have everything figured out by their late 20s but that isn’t how it works. You can change your life at any point, age has nothing to do with it.
Overall, this was a wonderful addition to this series. I really liked Leanne and Trevor. Also, I need more house husband romances now.
Trigger warnings: depression, toxic parents, neglectful parent, toxic masculinity from family, on page death of a parent, suicidal ideations
