Title: Lost in Amber
Author: Maz Maddox
Series: RELIC #4
Pages: 217

Yu has been sent to China to get a rare amber fossil that is on the black market. What he doesn’t expect is to run into the man who almost killed him a hundred years ago also trying to obtain the amber. But when the fossil is stolen by a third party, they have to work together to get it back, and get their second chance at love.
I really loved this book! Yu has been a bit of a mystery in this series up until now. Yu is a very emotional dino. He gives with his whole heart and frequently gets it broken in the process, but with Lance things are different. They instantly connect and the emotions are felt on both sides. Lance is an extremely smart, and easily flustered bow tie wearing man who is extremely sweet. His dino was a fluffy bit of fun and I loved how protective it was of his giant yutyrannus.
“I was fairly sure I just fell into a very deep, very bottomless, heart-shaped pit when it came to this suave, handsome, headache-inducing man. “
Lance
Yu is the kind of man who you can count on to get you out of most situations, which is the kind of man Lance needs. Lance is definitely out of his element during this mission. He is trying to prove himself to his family but also knows that he isn’t a fighter. I did love seeing him be protective though, it was adorable. These two were complete opposites but they worked wonderfully together, especially during this retrieval mission.
While we do get some brief time with previous couples, we get to meet a lot of new characters in this one. I really liked the new characters that were introduced, especially the microraptor who was very funny and reminded me of Dalton a little. Also Lance is a part of another shifter team so hopefully that means we will have a spin-off series in the future.
Overall, this was a wonderful addition to this series. I loved Yu and Lance so much! Their adventure in Shanghai was so much fun!
