Steele spends all his time running his garage and dealing with his idiot brother, so the last thing he has time for is a relationship. But when he meets the local veterinarian he can stop thinking about him or wanting to put his hands on him, but can they make it work with their busy schedules.
This was a wonderful MM romance with a very steamy relationship. Porter is a veterinarian who is struggling to run his own clinic. He has yet to figure out the work-life balance but he knows he wants to spend more time with Steele. I loved how shy and awkward Porter was, at least until he got horney or drunk then he had a filthy mouth. Porter was a great character who realizes the importance of fighting for what you want, even when it feels impossible.
Steele is a burly mechanic with a cute dog. He instantly wants Porter but quickly realizes how busy they both are and believes it will never work. The more time he spends with Porter the more he wants him though. Steele was a great guy who really goes out of his way to take care of his family and friends. I loved how he treated Porter and fell in love with him. Also, I loved how he was trying to plot ways to keep seeing Porter without labeling it so Porter wouldn’t panic.
The relationship between these two was a bit slow to start but it was still filled with a lot of pining and lust filled glances. I really enjoyed the progression of their relationship. It was emotional, steamy, and just so sweet, which is everything I love.
Overall, this was a wonderful start to a series and I can’t wait to read the next book. Also, I will probably be reading the Four Bears Construction series now since a lot of those couples appeared in this book.
