Title: Immortal
Author: J. R. Ward
Series: Fallen Angels #6
Pages: 391

The final souls have been chosen by the Creator and Jim is determined to win. While I didn’t like the previous book, I did think this was a decent ending. Jim is actually back on track to fight with Devina and he isn’t pulling any punches anymore. Jim is a character that I have mixed feelings for, but in this book I actually liked him. He put others before himself finally and really was the savior for his friends and the world.
Sissy and Jim do get together this book, which I still am not happy about but it is what it is. I actually liked Sissy in this one. She actually had some spunk and was an emotional character, not a flat side piece from previous books. I did really enjoy her friendship with Adrian and how they acted like they were related almost.
For the end of this challenge, it was a bit anticlimactic. Devina puts up a bit of a challenge but she is so lost in her own OCD and psychotic obsession with Jim that it wasn’t the big battle that I expected. It will be interesting to see her deal with the BDB in the future.
Overall, while I still don’t love this series, I am glad that I took the time to reread it. This gives some important context for who and what Devina is and why she is as evil as she is. I am excited to see Adrian and Eddie appear in the BDB series though because those two definitely were my favorite parts of this series.
