Ruarc has found himself in a terrible position. The Others are forcing him to betray his friendship with the Reapers to keep those he loves safe. And now the one woman who he has loved for centuries is back in his life and is in even more danger.
This book was ok. I enjoyed the progression of the fight with the Others and the battles. My main issue was with the relationship of the main characters. Ruarc was a good hero and I liked him and his dedication to fight evil. I did have trouble believing that their relationship magically fixed itself after 300 years apart with just one brief conversation.
Chevonne was my main issue with the romance. Her character was weak and at times flat. She didn’t really feel like a good partner for Rurarc, especially after she demands he tell her the truth but won’t be truthful in return. She just wasn’t a good heroine for me and it really brought down my enjoyment of the story.
Overall, I enjoyed the overarching story continuation but not this couple. I am very curious about what is going to happen next in their fight against the others though.
