Title: Wolf Unleashed
Author: Paige Tyler
Series: SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #5
Pages: 310

SWAT Officer Alex Trevino finds himself instantly attracted to the new veterinarian, Lacey Barton. Lacey is determined to keep him at arms length though, especially since she is determined to discover who is behind the brutal dogfights in the area.
Alex was a pretty good hero. He really put some thought into his dates with Lacey and it was quite adorable. I love when a hero actually understands the heroine’s likes and uses it for fun dates. We get the history of how Alex was turned, but after five volumes we still don’t have very much information on werewolves in general or other groups around Dallas.
Alex and Lacey had a lot of things in common so their relationship worked really well and was cute. Lacey was smart, compassionate, takes care of her younger sister, and is very passionate about animals. Unfortunately, like with previous heroines, she makes some really stupid decisions that don’t make sense for smart people to do. This is becoming something that is getting tiresome with this series.
The plot was good and filled with a bit of tension but it wasn’t anything that is going to stick with me. Overall, this was a good addition to the series but I do wish we got more world building and less repetition of scenes.
Trigger warnings: Discussions of suicide. Neglectful parents. Drugs. Dog fights and deaths.
