4 stars – It was really good

When werewolf Khaki Blake is recruited to the Dallas SWAT team Senior Corporal Xander Riggs isn’t happy. Not because he doesn’t think women can do the job, but because he can’t control himself around her.

Khaki and Xander had instant attraction from the very first sniff of each other’s scent. Khaki is a tough woman who is looking for a fresh start. She is a newly turned werewolf so she struggles to understand all the changes that are happening to her and how to utilize them. She was just a great heroine and I really liked her. Also, I really am glad that we do have a female werewolf in book two because it was a question that I had after reading the first book.

Xander is a grumpy wolf. He isn’t great at showing his feelings and for a while Khaki thought he hated her. I loved seeing this grumpy wolf struggle with his feelings and fall in love. Also, I loved that he was willing to help her learn and control her wolf, even if it meant he couldn’t keep her at a distance. He really was a great man, once he let someone in anyways.

Overall, this was a wonderful sequel. I really enjoyed the progression of Khaki and Xander’s relationship. It was filled with pinning, tension, and action packed battles. I just loved it and their inability to keep their hands off each other. I can’t wait to see who falls in love next.

Trigger Warnings:  Khaki is stalked by her controlling ex-boyfriend.
