Title: Angel Rising
Author: Victoria Larque
Series: Embers Duology #2
Pages: 259

This book picks up right where the previous one left off. Mihr and Fane are hiding from the demons and angels with Cam and Dax. While Fane wants to just relax and hide, Mihr is determined to try and put a stop to the angel compound. Unfortunately, their plans quickly change when the effects of the magic Dax has been using is revealed.
Just like the first book, I was instantly sucked into this story. Fane and Mihr finally admit their feelings for each other! Yes, there were some insecurities that they had to work through but it just made their love even stronger. Also, I loved that while Fane was her usual sassy self, she also became willing to fight for others outside of those she loved.
“By all that is rock and metal, I love you, Mihr.”
While I love that they finally admitted their feelings for each other, their relationship wasn’t really the main focus of this book. This focused more on the battle between Heaven and Hell and saving Dax. There were still some very romantic and touching scenes with Mihr and Fane, but it was more on them just finally admitting to all the feelings that were in the first book.
Overall, this was a wonderful sequel. I loved how the expansion of Heaven and Hell in this one and the secrets that they have both been hiding. While this is a duology, everything wasn’t wrapped up by the end of this book so maybe there will be another book.
