5 stars – I loved it!

Nevada Baylor has been given a new case – find out who murdered Cornelius Harrison’s wife. The case brings her back in contact with Conner “Mad” Rogan and the danger just keeps coming.

This was another action packed book that I couldn’t put down. Nevada has changed so much since she was introduced. She is more willing to kill now, especially if it’s to protect her family or innocents. We can see her growing stronger and realizing how dangerous House can be. I really love seeing her character develop and grow with this series. Also I love that she has finally given into her feelings for Conner and is determined to fight for him.

Connor finally shows his emotional side in this one. We see how much the war has damaged his thinking and that he does actually care for some of his employees. I loved that we are finally getting to learn more about him, even if it is heartbreaking. These two definitely have a few rocky times but that doesn’t stop them from loving each other. I love seeing them work through their issues.

This book also throws a new complication into the mix with a powerful Prime trying to obtain Nevada for her abilities. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next book, and how it will impact her family and relationship with Connor. Overall, this was a wonderful sequel and I can’t wait to jump into the next book.

Trigger Warnings: violence, death, references to torture
