4 stars – It was really good

Colonel Liam Wessex is determined to remain in the field for as long as possible. When the terrorists start targeting London, he finds himself working with M16 Agent Oliver Archer again.

This book is told from Liam and Oliver’s POV except for the very beginning where we get Jamie and Kyle’s POV for their wedding and the beginning of their honeymoon. I love that we finally got to see Jamie and Kyle get married and have a honeymoon. These have a very intense and steamy relationship and I love seeing them finally get their happy ending.

Now onto Liam and Oliver. If you read Fire in the Heart, you will know that Agent Archer and Liam clearly have a past history. We finally learn the truth about what happened. I liked that Liam was sincere in his apology to Oliver for his past actions and he gots out of his way to make up for it.

I enjoyed Oliver and Liam’s story. There was a lot of tension and hostility in the beginning but they worked through it once they actually started talking. Oliver is just as dedicated to his job as Liam was and I think he is the perfect partner for him. I liked Liam’s team as well and would love to learn more about them now.

Overall, I loved seeing Liam finally fall in love. This was just another wonderful blend of action packed missions against terrorists and steamy and emotional romance. I love this series and really hope she writes more because I am not ready to give these characters up.

Trigger Warnings: on page torture, grief, violence
