4 stars – It was really good

When pilot Mallory West crash lands on an alien planet, her ship is in pieces, and her best friend Poppy is missing. Dazed and injured, she finds herself in the arms of Overlord Rhain Shalto Sarkany, who thinks she might be a spy.

Well this was a wonderful start to a new series! This book started out with a bang and didn’t stop. Mal was a wonderful heroine. She was protective, strong, deadly, and could really wield a sword. I loved that she never backed down and was always the first to jump into battle against the Zhylaw creatures. She was also very protective of her friend Poppy and all of Rhain’s people, even when Rhain still believed her to be a spy. She was just a great heroine and I loved seeing her fall in love with Rhain.

Rhain is the overlord to the planet. He is a great leader who always takes care of his people and is determined to protect them. I liked him a lot. It was great watching him fall for such a tough woman. I loved watching them fight together and destroy their enemies. A power couple like these two are always some of my favorites in scifi romances.

Overall, this was a wonderful and action packed start to a new series. I can’t wait to read book two and learn more about Rhain’s brothers and see what happens to Poppy. Also, I loved all of Rusty’s sayings.
