4 stars – It was really good

S-756 hates all humans, but especially the scientist who tortured him and turned him into a cyborg. When he has to rescue a scientist, he is shocked to discover that she is the beautiful woman who betrayed him years ago.

This was a great cyborg romance! I love when two damaged people find love together and these two were great! They met over 10 years ago when Sam, aka S-756, was turned into a cyborg. She tried to help him escape but things quickly went wrong. I liked that while Sam held onto his anger against Addie for a while he still took care of her and protected her. He may have been a little grumpy at first but he quickly changes.

Sam and Addie have a fast paced but also very emotional relationship. Addie has been abused by her ex-husband and doesn’t trust men anymore, especially when it comes to sex. Sam has to slowly show her that it can be pleasurable and that it won’t hurt. I liked how careful he was with her after he realized the extent of her fears. They both had a lot of emotional trauma but they helped each other work through it and I loved every minute of it.

Overall, this was a great second chance romance. I loved seeing this grumpy cyborg fall in love. I am really enjoying this series and really can’t wait to see how the cyborgs will deal with GenCon in the future.

Content Warnings:  Addie was coerced into an abusive marriage and forced to have a child. Sam (S-756) was tortured by a sadistic scientist.
