Title: The Good, The Bad, and the Cyborg
Author: Honey Phillips
Series: Cyborgs on Mars #1
Pages: 210

Hattie came to Mars with the hope of starting a new life. Instead, everything seems to be falling apart and she might lose her home too if she can’t find someone else to help her. M-231, also known as Morgan, has been entranced with Hattie since she arrived on Mars but has never made a move or talked to her. When he finds out she needs a partner to keep her land he offers to help. Together these two must overcome their pasts, the environment, and a dangerous enemy.
This was a nice quick read. I am really enjoying the concept of this new settlement on Mars with its mixture of western and scifi. Hattie was a smart and resourceful woman and I really liked her. She built and slaved over her land and it shows. Morgan was closed off at first but quickly opened up when he realized Hattie truly cared. She didn’t care that he was a cyborg and saw him only as a man. They had an instant love relationship but I still enjoyed it.
This was just a very interesting world that Phillips has created and I am really enjoying it. I am very curious to see what GenCon is actually doing because clearly it’s something big. Also I can’t wait to learn more about the other cyborgs, especially the grumpy Judge.
