Danny Trejo is an actor that I have watched on screen since I was a child. He is an iconic actor with his looks and personality. When I saw that he wrote a memoir, I knew I needed to read it. Danny has lived a remarkable life full of impossibilities. He was a drug addict, did multiple stints in some of the country’s most notorious prisons, met Charles Manson, became clean, started a family, and became an actor.

This was a blunt and heartfelt memoir. Danny never held back on what he did, experienced, or thought. He frequently discussed his negative attitude towards women and the toxic masculinity grew up with. It amazes me that this man, who is in his 70s, is still working on the traumas of his childhood and realizing how they have impacted his life, especially with his relationship towards women. It really shows that anyone can change if they put their mind to it.

I highly recommend this audiobook if you are a fan because he narrates it himself and I loved hearing him laugh and show emotion during the reading. This was a crazy life story and it shows that if you work hard you can change your life.
