3 stars – I liked it

Ragnar the Cunning is escorting Éibhear home for the twins’ birthday party. What he doesn’t expect is to run into the annoying she-dragon, Kita and end up with her tagging along on the trip. As these two get closer to their family, Ragnar realizes there is more to Kita than she portrays and that she isn’t as innocent as everyone believes.

While I did enjoy this book, I found Kita trying after a while. She is annoying, sneaky, and spoiled, which I know part of it is acting, but it got tiresome at times. She never shuts it off and everything is a game to her. Ragnar on the other hand I really liked. He was smart, deadly, and wasn’t afraid to manipulate the situation to his advantage. He will be good for Kita because he can rein her in some in the future I think.

These two were complete opposites but somehow it worked. What I enjoyed most about this book was the side characters, like Izzy who has become a fierce fighter and I can’t wait to see how she will grow in the future books. I also am glad to see that Annwyl is as fierce as ever and has worked out a way to fight and protect her children. Also her children are fascinating and I can’t wait to see what crazy things they will do in the future.

Overall, this was a good book for the series even if the heroine was a little annoying.
