5 out of 5 stars
5 stars – I loved it!

This book was non-stop action and I couldn’t put it down. This book picks up right where the previous book left us hanging. Raphael and Elena awaken from their slumber to find that they both have changed and that war is coming. Elena is constantly dealt with changes in her body during this series and it happens so much more in this book alone. It’s really surprising that she hasn’t had a breakdown from her body changes alone. I did like the new wings though.

The battle against Lijuan finally happens in this book (obviously from the title). The battle was captivating and very emotional. It was heartbreaking to see so much death and destruction but it was great seeing everyone stand together to fight. I couldn’t put the book down once it started and I still can’t get over that it finally happened.

I will be really interested in seeing how the Cadre will deal with the cleanup and infection that was unleashed during this war. It will also be interesting to see how the Cadre will change after this war since they did have casualties and are dealing with so much destruction.
