The overall rating is the average of the following ratings.

Only the End of the World Again by Neil Gaiman – 3 stars – I liked it
It was a great addition to the Innsmouth world.

Bulldozer by Laird Barron – DNF.
This story wasn’t keeping my interest,

Red Goat Black Goat by Nadia Bulkin – 2 stars – It was ok

The Same Deep Waters As You by Brian Hodge – 4 stars – It was really good.
This was another Innsmouth story. It was very interesting but I think I might just be a fan of Insomouth.

A Quarter to Three by Kim Newman – 2 stars – It was ok

The Dappled Thing by William Browning Spencer – 2 stars – It was ok

Inelastic Collisions by Elizabeth Bear – 3 stars – I liked it

Remnants by Fred Chappell – 4 stars – It was really good.
This was an interesting post-apocalypse story about a surviving family. The world is being attacked by Cthulhu like creatures.

Love is Forbidden, We Croak and Howl by Caitlín R. Kiernan – 3 stars – I liked it

The Sect of the Idiot by Thomas Ligotti– 3 stars – I liked it

Jar of Salts by Gemma Files– 2 stars – It was ok

Black is the Pit, from Pole to Pole by Howard Waldrop and Steven Utley– 4 stars – It was really good.
This was a fascinating story with the Frankenstein’s monster. I really enjoyed this potential take on his future but it was sad as well.

Waiting at the Crossroads Motel by Steve Rasnic Tem – 2 stars – It was ok

I’ve Come to Talk to You Again by Karl Edward Wagner– 2 stars – It was ok

The Bleeding Shadow by Joe R. Lansdale – 4 stars – It was really good.

That of Which We Speak When We Speak of the Unspeakable by Nick Mamatas  – 2 stars – It was ok

Haruspicy by Gemma Files – 2 stars – It was ok

Children of the Fangby John Langan – 3 stars – I liked it

Monster Index – This was just a list of the monsters and what stories they came from. It is great if you want to go back and read the original stories afterwards.

Overall, this was a very interesting collection of Lovecraft inspired stories. Some I liked more than others but overall this was a pretty good collection if you are looking for some monster stories. This collection also made me realize that I apparently really like Innsmouth stories so now I need to go back and read the original.  Also the narrator, Bernard Clark, did a great job giving each story a different voice and tone so they did not all sound the same.
