4 stars out of five
4 stars – It was really good

Aurina Phoenix is scouting for her brother’s deep-space convoy when a meteor shower brings down her ship. She finds herself on a barren, low-tech planet inhabited by dangerous beasts, and brawny barbarians.

I really enjoyed Aurina and Kavon’s story. Aurina is a spunky, smart, and independent woman who doesn’t put up with Kavon’s protective and controlling actions. Kavon was a barbarian warrior who was used to everyone following his orders. Aurina is constantly challenging him and it was very enjoyable. I really liked how Kavon grew to respect Aurina’s strengths and understood she could help him and his people.

Overall, this was another great adventure for the Phoenix family. I really enjoyed Aurina and this barbarian world. I hope we get to see more of this world in future books.
