When a distinctive tattoo is found on a severed head, Dmitri requests Guild help in deciphering it. Honor reluctantly agrees to help on the case even though she wants nothing to do with vampires anymore. Unfortunately she just can’t seem to stay away from Dmitri.

Dmitri is a character that I really didn’t like at first. He used his pheromones to sway people, especially Elena, for me to like him in the previous books. Well this book made me change my views on him. I now like Dmitri and that is all because of Honor. She brought his humanity back.

Honor was a very strong woman who I instantly loved. She has suffered so much but she is using that pain to make her stronger. I liked that while she was a good hunter she preferred her books. Honor and Dmitri’s story was an emotional one filled with lots of pain but also a lot of attraction and eventually love. Their relationship was so hot and I really loved the chemistry between them from the very beginning.

I really like that we are getting books about the Seven. While I do like Elena and Raphael, it’s nice to have a break from them and see this world through a different pair of eyes.
