3 stars – I liked it

Ettore “Savage” Selvaggio’s assassination mission does not go as planned when the woman he once loved appears next to the enemy. Now he is determined to find out what is going one with her before he follows through with the mission.

Like all the 1001 novellas, this was a very quick book and a quick relationship. Ettore and Bella are given a second chance at a relationship and it was a very sweet one. Their feelings for each other hadn’t changed after so long and they basically picked up where their younger selves left off. I liked their relationship even if we didn’t get a lot of depth to it since it had already been established. Bella was a fascinating Breedmate though and I could see why she had been taken by Vito.

This book plays basically no part in the overarching story of this series but I still enjoyed it. I was very intrigued by the new character, Scythe, and really can’t wait to learn more about him. Overall, this was a pretty good novella for how short it is.
