4 stars – It was really good

When an unwanted family tradition calls Jahan home, he finds himself alone for eight days with the beautiful Breedmate Seraphina. But their seclusion ends up being more adventurous than expected.

This was a quick novella but was very good. I love the arranged marriage/engagement trope and this one was unique because it’s not set in stone. Jahan and Seraphina both go into this handfasting reluctantly and want nothing to do with mating but their attraction won’t be denied. I really liked Seraphina and her dedication to helping people.

Overall, I really enjoyed these two and their steamy, and reluctant, relationship. This is probably my favorite 1001 novella from the series so far.
