“How did a nice wolf-next-door lure the most dangerous She-wolf alive into his life for good?”
Ric Van Holtz has wanted Dee Ann Smith since he first laid eyes on her as a kid. Now years later he is determined to win her over and make her his.
I forgot how much I enjoyed Dee and Ric’s relationship. They are complete opposites but they work beautifully. Ric is a surprisingly sweet and funny man. He is friends with all the women in the packs but Dee is the only one who sees all of him. She understands his struggles and doesn’t push him to change or be harder. She just threatens to kill anyone who bothers him, which is sweet.
“Every day I learn something new about you. And every day I like you more and more.”
I really loved that Dee is the deadly protective alpha in this relationship. Yes, Ric is also an alpha male who is protective but he is more towards nurturing and caring for others than physical confrontations. He is dangerous when he needs to be though and I really like that about him. I loved that he has shown his feelings for Dee from the beginning by constantly trying to feed her.
These two were just a great couple and had a great relationship. One of the reasons why I love this series so much is because the heroines are all very strong and deadly women, but also have surprisingly sweet and protective sides. Dee Ann is the perfect example of how a strong woman can be sensitive and feminine when she wants to be.
