4 stars – It was really good

Andreas Reichen is on the hunt for vengeance against his family. He has hunted down all the men responsible for their deaths and now there’s only one enemy left alive. Unfortunately, the man is mated to the one woman Andrea ever loved and now he has to use her to find him.

Andreas is no longer the charming and easy going man from the previous books. He is now filled with anger and vengeance, which just feeds the power of his fire ability. He is determined to use his old love Claire against her husband but she has other plans. She actively challenges him and tries to make him rethink his decision of vengeance. Claire was such a compassionate woman and I really liked her determination to save Andreas. Also her ability to walk through dreams was interesting.

I really enjoyed these two and their emotional story. It blended well with the overall story, which progressed a lot in this book. We are one step closer to a confrontation with Dragos. Also is also a major update with the ancient one at the end of this book and I can’t wait to see how that progresses. Overall, this was a great couple with some great story progression.

Trigger Warnings:

  • References to the kidnapping, abuse, and forced impregnation of women.
  • References and a brief flashback of Andres’s entire family being murdered, children included in the scene.
