Title: Look Mom I’m a Poet (and So Is My Cat)
Author: Andrew Shaffer
Pages: 146
Release Date: June 1, 2021

So I want to start by saying I am not a fan of the modern poetry style, but the title and cover of this book caught my attention and after reading the blurb I decided to give it a try. I actually found this a pretty humorous and fun collection of poetry. I still don’t like the style of this kind of poetry but I could overlook it enough with this fun collection.
This was my first Shaffer book and I really enjoyed his blunt humidor about life. It was relatable and easy to understand his references. I will most likely read more of his stuff in the future. I liked the poems The Woods, The Power of Belief, and Carpe DM a lot. They made me laugh at how accurate they could be.
Overall, this was a fun collection of poetry and a very quick read. If you are looking for a laugh and like poetry, check this book out.
