Title: The House Witch: Your Complete Guide to Creating a Magical Space
with Rituals and Spells for Hearth and Home
Author: Arin Murphy-Hiscock
Pages: 257

In The House Witch, you will learn how to incorporate your house into your own magical space. With well defined chapters and subsections, the information that Arin provides is extremely easy to understand and follow. She offers ideas on how to create magical recipes and spell, protect and purify your hearth and home, learn the skills of the cauldron, call upon the kitchen gods and goddess, and many other things.
While this book was very interesting and informative, I felt there wasn’t a lot that I could apply to my own path and practice. Because of this I found myself skimming a lot of sections that weren’t useful for me, especially the candle and incense sections because this is a fragrance free household.
I did enjoy Arin’s writing style and formatting of this book. The chapters had subsections which easily broke down the topic into manageable sections. This made it easy to grasp the different aspects or applications for house witchery. I prefer witchcraft books that do this because it makes it easier to find, and understand the information within. Also as just a side note, this is written for beginners of home witchery, so don’t expect complex ideas, spells or rituals.
Overall, this was an interesting book but not exactly a helpful book for my own practice. I would recommend this book to those interested in learning more about home and hearth magic or for those who already do kitchen witchery.
