5 stars – I loved it!

In Uncomfortable Conversations with A Black Man, Emmanuel Acho answers common questions that many white Americans are afraid to ask, but need the answers to. Narrated by Acho, this audiobook takes the listener through these questions, answers, and additional resources for further education.

As a fan of Acho’s video series, I knew this book was one I would need to read. Acho does an amazing job at presenting the answers to some of the biggest questions white people have. I liked how he broke down the questions and provided analogies to better understand why you can’t say/do things. These made it easier to grasp why it was so important that white people change their behavior.

One of the best things about this book, and his video series, is that while the conversations are uncomfortable, Acho tries to make this as easy as possible for readers/viewers. He holds your hand while he educates you and that is why this is a perfect book for people looking to learn about racism.

I also appreciated that at the end of each chapter you are provided with additional resources to further educate yourself. If you get the audiobook, like I did, it comes with a PDF that lists these resources. Overall, though this was a wonderful book that is perfect for anyone looking to educate themselves on racism.
