5 out of 5 stars
5 stars – I loved it!

Hellboy has lost faith in the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense after they implanted a bomb in one of the nonhuman agents. He decides to leave the Bureau and search for answers about his destiny.

This was an action packed collection of stories. Hellboy is one of my favorite comic characters because he is always getting into trouble and fighting his way out, usually with a sarcastic comment thrown in. Well, this volume is filled with fights, witty remarks, and a lot of monsters.

Time is moving very quickly in these stories and it is unclear how long it has been since Hellboy actually left the Bureau. I did find myself missing the rest of the team, especially Abe and Roger. Overall, this was a great collection of stories focusing on Hellboy and destiny.
