3 stars – I liked it

FYI this book was originally published under the title, Immortally Ever After.

The hard-one cease fire between the Old and Young Gods doesn’t last long. A new prophecy has been announced it has given hope that this war will finally be over. But Petra will also have to deal with the return of Commander Galen, Marc, a dragon, and a baby shower.

This was a good ending for the series. Petra has accepted her role in fulfilling the prophecies at this point and just focuses on uncovering what the cryptic words are trying to say. Galen returns to the scene in this one, which I was excited about, and is determined to win Petra back. They still love each other but Petra is still terrified of commitment and being left behind. Her constant determination to push Galen away did get a little annoying but she does finally open her eyes and embrace their relationship.

While the ending of the battle was great, it wasn’t what I was expecting. It was very emotional, which I think made it better. I loved that the MASH unit was like one giant family and that they all backed Petra up when she needed it. Also Medusa and her baby were adorable. Overall, this was a great conclusion to Petra’s story.
