2 stars – it was ok

Khan, a Chamele Warlord, has a bounty on his head. He is going to use it to lure out his enemies, except he finds that his bounty hunter is his mate, which makes the mission even more tricky.

So I attempted to read this book twice shortly after it came out in 2019 but I couldn’t really get into it and DNF around 20% each time. Two years later, I have finally finished this book and it was just ok for me. Khan and Zeta relationship has very little build up or depth to it in my opinion. I was really expecting more from Khan’s book because he is one of the Warlords and frequently has hinted in previous books of wanting a mate badly. Sadly, he got his mate but it wasn’t a very emotional relationship in my opinion. This lack of emotion and build up made these two very forgettable characters.

The overall story also wasn’t very exciting either. Khan was trying to use his bounty to catch the bad guy but nothing really comes out of it in this book. The whole story just felt like it was wasted and the relationship between these two didn’t really improve it. This was not my favorite of the series, but I will give the next book a try. Hopefully I will like it better.
