Weapons scientist Dr. Finley Delgado is determined to get her new defense weapon operational before the Kantos have a chance to invade. She doesn’t want Security Commander Sabin to invade her lab because he will be a distraction. While working tirelessly to develop the weapon and fend off Kantos assassins, Sabin and Finley grow closer together with each day that passes.

I really enjoyed this one. Finley was a smart, determined scientist who has had a traumatic past. While she may be a scientist, she wasn’t afraid to defend herself of Sabin if necessary. Finley was just a great heroine who I instantly liked and want to see more of. Sabin was a hunky, alien warrior who was determined to fight his feelings for Finley. I love a protective hero who is fighting his feelings.

These two had a lot of chemistry and were a great couple. I loved that they weren’t afraid to die together if it meant they didn’t have to part. Anna Hackett does an amazing job at creating emotional characters and scenes that just keep you hooked to the story. Also, I am eagerly waiting for the next book after that ending.
