4 stars – It was really good

Surge is fascinated by babies but he is currently assigned to a battle station with an all male crew. He knows he will probably never interact with children. When an unknown ship ventures into the sector they are protecting he finds an extremely exhausted single mom of a newborn, who just so happens to be his mate.

I really enjoyed this novella. Surge was adorable with baby Weilei. I loved how he allowed Nu to keep control of her daughter while still getting the help she needed. He instantly steps up and becomes a great dad and protector. Nu’s background was sad since she was betrayed by the man she thought she was going to spend her life with. I liked her overall and think she will make a good mate for Surge.

My absolute favorite part of this novella was watching the cyborgs fall over themselves to interact with the baby. They were just adorable and so sweet. I really want more stories with babies now because of this.
