Title: The Transylvania Twist
Author: Angie Fox
Series: The Monster MASH
Pages: 310

FYI this book was originally published under the title, Immortally Embraced.
Even during a truce, Petra has her hands full as a MASH surgeon. She has to deal with a pregnant Medusa, her presumed-dead fiancé showing back up, a new prophecy and a potentially deadly weapon being created by the Old Gods.
This was another nonstop action packed adventure for Petra. Just like in the first book, I really enjoyed Petra and her snarky comments. The MASH unit she is in is so much fun and filled with very unique characters, especially her roommates. She is a great heroine who ends up doing a lot of things she doesn’t want to do to try and stop the war between the Old and New Gods. I like that she isn’t a perfect heroine and is frequently grumpy that she has to help save the world again.
While I did enjoy this story, I was disappointed by Galen not being a part of it. I thought they were a great couple in the first book and was extremely disappointed that their relationship doesn’t continue. I liked Marc but the baggage between them made the relationship very stilted and somewhat repetitive. It’s hard for me to envision these two working out because they have changed so much.
Overall, this was an interesting world filled with unique characters. I am looking forward to the next book, especially since the Gods seem determined to start the war all over again.
