Title: A Game Of You
Author: Neil Gaiman
Series: The Sandman Vol. 5
Pages: 186

In an apartment house there live a drag queen, a lesbian couple, a severed head, and a confused heroine who is being attacked by the deadly cuckoo. Barbie, now finds herself a princess in a vivid dream world, but it’s not all peaceful.
This is my least favorite volume so far. I didn’t really enjoy the Princess Barbara storyline. The world and cuckoo were unique but the storyline itself didn’t really capture my attention like previous volumes. I did like the diversity in the characters but that only helps so much.
Morpheus is only featured a little bit in this one. I think that also might be why I didn’t love it. I was expecting more interaction with him and it just isn’t there. The world of dreams are very fascinating and unique but you can’t like them all. I do hope I like the next volume more.
Trigger Warning:
- Misgendering of side character by family
